2019 Old Town Vibe
Some photos taken by Hanna Ferguson, Marketing Communications Coordinator at Spence Brothers Construction.
WHERE
For our second year, the Great Mural Project completed a 12 foot by 24 foot mural on the North side of 422 Hancock, the home of Fralia's Restaurant. This busy delicious lunch spot is the unofficial entrance of Old Town Saginaw, and we wanted the mural to encompass the trademarks of this special historic neighborhood. Our student advisers worked with Artist Sydney Ververka to include colorful cobblestones, a classic style border and a few of the iconic buildings of Old Town. This mural truly welcomes visitors to this lively local business corridor.
WHO
The mural was designed by Sydney Ververka, a Saginaw native now residing in Chicago. Syd got together with a team of visionary students from Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy, Arthur Hill High School and Heritage High School to gather inspiration and feedback about the design and their vision for Saginaw.
